Hasan Reza is an assistant professor at the School of Social Work, Indiana University South Bend. He was raised in Bangladesh. He has received his Ph.D from the School of Social Service Administration, University of Chicago. He also received his MSW degree from Carleton University, Canada following a M.S.S and B.S.S. degree in Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka. Hasan served as a faculty member in a Bangladeshi university for about six years. He has also worked in microfinance, research and human service agencies in Bangladesh and Canada. Hasan's doctoral dissertation is a pioneering study on street youths' social networks in Bangladesh. He has also co-directed a documentary film about youths' street life. Hasan's research interests include street/homeless youth, community organizing and development, poverty and social inequality, microfinance, and international social work.
