Dr. Robert (Bob) Vernon is the former Director for our School’s online MSW Direct program and has created two other accredited social work programs.  He is a former member of the Council on Social Work Education’s Board of Directors and Commission on Accreditation.  He has interests in technology and social work, social welfare policy, aging, and social work education. He earned his B.A. in Anthropology at UCLA,  M.S.W. from San Diego State University and his Ph.D. in Urban, Technological and Environmental Planning from the University of Michigan. He has presented on using technology in social work over forty times and authored one textbook on social work practice on the web. He also researches the origins of modern social welfare from 1534 until the Elizabethan Poor Law of 1601.
