Ph.D. Admission Information

PhD Program Application Requirements:

IMPORTANT:  Please email the Director at madamek@iupui.edu to let her know when you have submitted your application online.

1. On-line graduate application http://www.iupui.edu/~gradoff/admissions/
2. Undergraduate and master's transcripts. Graduate GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
3. GRE test scores taken within the last five years. Institution Code: 1325, Social Work Code: 5001
4. A personal statement (about 750 words) outlining the applicant's reasons and preparation forseeking a PhD in social work. (Submitted as part of the online application).
5. Three letters of reference. (Can be submitted online preferably from former instructors).
6. A professional resume.
7. A scholarly writing sample.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 1.

PreDoc Option Application Requirements:

1. Complete the on-line Graduate Non-Degree application http://www.iupui.edu/%7egradoff/gnd/
   • Click on the link to Graduate Non-Degree Application Process
   • Click on GND On-line Instructions and Application
   • Click on Graduate Non-Degree University Application
   • Create new guest account
   • Under Academic Intentions, select “to complete Prerequisites for future enrollment in a degree program”
   • Under Intended Program and Plan, “Academic Program” – pick SWK PreDoc.  Under Plan – pick PreDoc
2. Official copies of all baccalaureate- and master's-level transcripts.  A graduate GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
3. A 500-word written statement that outlines the applicant's reasons for seeking enrollment in the Pre-Doc program.
4. One letter of reference, preferably from a former instructor.
5. A professional resume.
6. A scholarly writing sample.
