Spotlight on IU Social Work Research Dr. Kathy Lay received funding from the IUPUI Solutions Center to conduct a collabrative study with Drug Free Marion County (DFMC). The project, Parent Perception: Knowledge, Attitudes, Parental Impact, Peer Influence and Approval of Use, will provide knowledge for the DFMC community task force in planning and implementing appropriate parent education and/or resources for substance abuse prevention as well as provide social work faculty/students with a research/learning opportunity.

IU School of Social Work faculty, students and staff are engaged in a number of exciting and important research projects and scholarly acitivities. Dr. William Barton, with Dr. Roger Jarjoura from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, continues work on a three-year grant from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to evaluate intensive aftercare programs for juvenile offenders in four states.
