Legislative Charges:
Review federal, state, and local funds appropriated to meet the service needs of children and their families. Recommend methods to improve the use of available public and private funds to address the service needs. In carrying out the Commission's responsibilities, it shall consider pertinent studies on children at risk of abuse or neglect and on abused and neglected children and their families.
Issues to Consider:
- Examine current funding streams to determine what services have been funded and what funds have been lost.
- Specifically consider private donations or grants that may be used for services
- Report unmet needs that are discovered
- Form recommendations and submit a written report to the full Commission by March 30
