The School of Social Work Librarian to retire

Joseph Harmon, the Librarian to the School of Social Work, is retiring. Harmon plans to work through May 26, followed by vacation in June.

Joseph HarmonHarmon explained he has a new motor home and plans to catch up with kids, grandkids and siblings in Wisconsin and Northern Minnesota. “We are going to take advantage of our relatively good health and catch up this year. First up is a niece’s June wedding,” Harmon said.

He expects Mary Beth Minick, a long-time librarian to SPEA, will take over the School of Social Work for the immediate future.

Harmon earned his B.A., M.A., and M.L.S. from Indiana University and has been a librarian at University Library for over 20 years. He has published in the areas of anthropology, philanthropy, librarianship, and higher education.
