Brianna Gates received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Augsburg College, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2004. She attended Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis to receive her Masters in Social Work in 2009. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of combined professional direct and leadership experience in the areas of: Homeless Services and Home-Based Therapy. Practices include Trauma Informed Care and Harm Reduction. Her current role as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Field Instruction and Coordination. Current responsibilities include administrative aspects of field education. Recruitment and development of Field Instructors and Community Agencies. Consulting with Agency Partners, Field Instructors, Field Liaison and Students.

Teaching Interests

Teaching interests include Field Education in Social Work. History of teaching in the format of Agency Field Instructor, External Field Instructor and Faculty Field Liaison. Enjoys teaching the signature pedagogy in the field of social work and assisting with immersing students to the practical experiences in field and helping connect theory to practice.
