Mrozinske, E. C. Academic and Social Integration and the Moderating Effects of Student Characteristics: A Study of First-Generation Student Academic Performance.
Investigation of the relationship between academic and social integration on the academic performance of first-generation, first-year students. Furthermore, this study examined if race, gender, or socioeconomic status moderate the relationship between academic and social integration and their academic performance. Finally, this work developed integration profiles for further study. Results indicated that student academic success is best supported when considering multiple factors as opposed to a single categorical demographic.
