President, Local 1010, United Steelworkers of America, 1987-1988

Environmental Chair, District 31, United Steelworkers of Amerca, 1977-1981.Union advocate for clean air, clean water, green energy. Organized the first Environmental Committe in the USW. Built union/environmentalist/community coalition. Served on Boards of Save the Dunes Council, Lake Michigan Federation, Bailey Alliance Anti-Nuclear power group. Spoke in Washington D.C., represented District 31 at the White House.

Union Activist, 1970-1998, Chair, Rank & File Caucus of Local 1010, USWA,. Opposed & fought Labor/Management Participation Teams (LMPT), Job-combining & eliminating work rule changes, concessions. Supported members Right to Ratify Contracts, union democracy .Supported Shorter Work Week campaign. Ed Sadlowski campaign for USWA president.

Electrical Technician, Inland Steel, 1963-1998, Worked in Basic Steel Mill (Blast Furnace, Open Hearth, Cold Strip) for 33 years. As ET, I was responsible for all Electrical and Electronic equipment and control systems in the #3 Cold Strip Department including maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
