IU School of Social Work joins forces with alumna to create the Carlene Arteel Quinn Scholarship to support undergraduate students in need

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, 40 percent of college students have lost a job, internship, or job offer. The financial burden has hurt academic performance and delayed graduation, especially among lower-income students.
When a former alumna from the IU School of Social Work saw how the pandemic impacted college students, she decided to act. She and her husband created the Carlene Arteel Quinn Undergraduate Social Work Scholarship in honor of Associate Professor Carlene Arteel Quinn for her unconditional support to students. The award will aid an undergraduate social work student on the IU Bloomington campus.
The IU alumna would like to invite Carlene’s former students, colleagues, and friends to join forces in support of this scholarship. Please consider donating to ensure one social work student in need has the resources to purchase food, gas, and other necessities while continuing their education.
Funds raised today will be awarded to an undergraduate social work student(s) studying on IU’s Bloomington campus.
Our fundraising goal for 2020 is $1,000.
We hope you will join us today in honoring Carlene with your gift of any size.
