The IU School of Social Work is proud to announce that 13 of its students were selected to be a part of the 2021 Journey Fellowship for Students Program.

The Journey Fellowship Program is a unique opportunity for students to explore careers working with youth while becoming more grounded and confident in who they are. As part of the eight-month program, students will learn about career options in youth development and explore the field through a paid internship at an Indiana youth-serving organization. Additionally, they will attend retreats and programs focused on personal exploration and development and network with leaders and youth professionals making career and lifetime connections.

The students selected include Olivia Arroyo, Sarah Baumgartner, Cassandra Guzman, Cara Kowalczuk, and Jadah Shroads from Indiana University Fort Wayne, Bailey Arnold, Benita Banseviciute, and Tina Luna from Indiana University Northwest, DeAsia Craig, Bailey Ortiz, Kristina Slinker, Bryana Tuemler from IUPUI, and Jessica Ward from Indiana University South Bend.

As an Executive Journey Fellow, I want to congratulate the following students on their acceptance into the Journey Fellowship for Students,” said Stephanie Lyons, a 2011 Journey Executive Fellow and the Director of Field Education at the IU School of Social Work. “Your exploration of the field of youth development by being a Journey Fellow while pursuing a degree in social work will support you in your professional growth as well as have a long-term, positive impact on the youth of Indiana.”
