Tevin Jackson, MSW.

I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2017 with a bachelor’s in social work and in 2018 with my master’s in social work. I feel like I have been a social worker my whole life but not in the terms of therapy but mentoring young men who look like me with a similar upbringing. I currently work at CAPS providing individual counseling.

I think that social work ultimately chose me. I think it was just a match based on my passion and goal in life to help black and brown men and women. Right now, I am using my degree to provide counseling to IU Bloomington students. I currently work for CAPS located here on the Bloomington campus.

I am still discovering the benefits of being a social worker. I do get an employee discount with parking passes since I work for IU lol.

I think a good accomplishment right now is the You Good? that Rory, Dennis, and myself have started. We have received a lot of love and praise for this due to it being a long-overdue need. Accomplishments are not something I keep track of, to be honest, I just aim to make someone’s day whether that is with a laugh, compliment, hug, lunch, opening the door, etc. I am a simple person honestly.
