Hydeia Ayers is a Bachelor of Social Work student at Indiana University – Fort Wayne and plans to graduate in May of 2022. Hydeia aims to use her Bachelor of Social Work degree to help families through community development.

Hydeia Ayers, a Bachelor of Social Work student at Indiana University – Fort Wayne, had always had a passion to advocate and empower others, which she has been able to accomplish through social work. Hydeia believes that if she had neglected to use her gift to serve others, she would be doing an injustice to God, herself, and to society. By receiving her Bachelor of Social Work degree, Hydeia would like to serve families through community development.
In regard to passions, Hydeia is most passionate about learning how to be professionally present with the individuals she serves and creating ways to ensure healthy and safe environments for those individuals. Academically, Hydeia loves to learn about what impacts our cognitive, physiology, and behavioral patterns. Currently, Hydeia is working at a counseling center as a full-time office assistant. Additionally, Hydeia works at an assisted living as a prn CNA in which she cares and advocates for the elderly and the health care system. Also, Hydeia works as an Allen County CASA Volunteer in which she advocates for the best interest for children. Hydeia is a part of a women’s ministry in which she empowers women through the values of Christianity. Hydeia makes a point to take opportunities to learn and grow both professionally and personally and she loves attending seminars and conferences such as the Great Kids Annual Conference on Youth

Hydeia encourages others to Embrace their journey by loving yourself, giving yourself grace, holding yourself accountable, being fearless in your gift to serve, being humble, authentic, and always being receptive to learn.
