In addition, She also has worked at Mother Bear’s Pizza on campus in order to make some money for her bills. Her population of interest as a social worker is children. She is interviewing with Department of Child Services as her senior practicum placement, and she hopes to receive the Child Welfare Scholarship to provide financial support through her senior year.  In order to receive the Child Welfare Scholarship, she will commit to work for DCS for a period of two years following her graduation from the BSW program. Afterwards, she is considering school social work as a potential career path.  Mariangella wants to share her appreciation for your support.

She writes, “I wanted to express much gratitude for this scholarship that I have been granted. It is not easy for someone like me to figure out my way through college without the assistance of some financial aid, so this scholarship is very important to me. I have been working hard all of my life, and I am hoping to continue that throughout the rest of my education and future career as a social worker. The money will be useful for not only my specific college expenses, but it benefits me mentally and emotionally since it is a little less amount of a loan I have to worry about. I am financially independent and living on my own, so any assistance I can get is of the upmost importance personally. With this scholarship, I can focus more of my time on my classes as a student and my job as a food service industry worker to earn income. Once senior practicum begins and graduation nears, I hope to focus more of my time as a social worker.”
