Advances in Social Work Journal, Fall 2022
Indiana University School of Social Work presents Advances in Social Work (AISW), a journal highlighting the latest research in social work. The Fall 2022 issue, Questioning the Status Quo, includes 17 full-length papers (11 empirical, 6 conceptual) written by 52 authors representing diverse regions in the United States, and one from Ethiopia. All papers can be found below.
This issue is organized into five areas of contribution: challenges to national social work organizations, technological innovations in social work, curriculum innovations, COVID-related impacts, and diverse client populations. Each paper is introduced briefly, followed by our annual recognition of AISW reviewers.
Advances in Social Work follows a double-blind peer review process, which ensures that the author’s reputation does not influence the acceptance or rejection of submissions. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and interests, and they can come from academic or practical fields.
The AISW is published three times a year, including two regular issues edited by Dr. Margaret Adamek, director of the PhD program, IU School of Social Work, and Valerie Decker, project evaluator of child welfare education and training partnership, IU School of Social Work, and one special issue with guest editors. The journal attracts submissions from authors and reviewers from various countries, including the United States, and represents over 124 colleges, universities, and agencies.
Our next special issue, Leveraging Social Work to Address Gun Violence, will be available in Fall 2023.
