PREPaRE 2 Model for Psychological Triage During a School Crisis: Providing Mental Health Services in a School Setting
“PREPaRE 2 Model for Psychological Triage During a School Crisis: Providing Mental Health Services in a School Setting” aims to introduce concepts provided in the two-day PREPaRE 2 Model Workshop. This non-certification two-hour presentation is geared to assist mental health providers working in school settings have a basic knowledge of the five crisis preparedness mission areas (prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery), school culture, unique needs of students, and specific dynamics of crisis, in order to assist trained school personnel during and after a school crisis in evaluating psychological trauma risk and providing effective and evidence-based interventions for both students and staff while using common language.

Megan Ulrich, LCSW, LSSW and Licensed School Counselor serves as the Mental Health Liaison for the Tippecanoe School Corporation (TSC). As a member of TSC’s District Leadership Team, the “Brain Brigade”, Megan has helped to successfully develop and implement an exceptional mental health and wellness framework within the TSC, positively impacting the well-being of countless students. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Megan is also the Girls’ Head Cross-Country coach at McCutcheon High School, where she inspires and motivates young athletes.
