Higher Education and Philanthropy Webinar Series: Nikole Hannah-Jones

Monday, December 9, 2024 at 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Join Susan King in a discussion featuring Nikole Hannah-Jones, the Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the 1916 Project and a staff writer for The New York Times Magazine.

As an extension of the annual Higher Education and Philanthropy workshop, most recently held in December 2023, the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy is hosting a series of webinars to share insights between the annual convenings. The series will address issues ranging from successes and challenges of philanthropy in higher education, the institutions and policy environment that support them, to alternative models and perspectives to consider in the shifting higher education landscape.

This webinar event will feature Nikole Hannah-Jones, the Pulitzer Prize winning creator of the 1619 Project and a staff writer at The New York Times Magazine who specializes in investigating racial inequality and injustice - earning a MacArthur Fellowship, a Peabody Award, George Polk Awards and National Magazine Awards.

Established by the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 2022, the Higher Education Philanthropy Initiative explores the ways philanthropy can advance the public purposes of higher education by building connections among scholars, practitioners, and funders.
