Trauma Informed Care-Community and Collective Trauma Workshop

CEU Workshop starts promptly at 5pm

An informative and interactive workshop designed for social workers, helping professionals or others in the community that are interested in collective or community trauma. We will define trauma, both individual and collective trauma, and discuss the impacts on our community. Trauma responsive interventions will be explored, and discussion will occur regarding recent violence and the community’s response.

Presented by:

Kristi Glotzbach, MSSW, LCSW, CADAC V has 30 years working with child-welfare involved children and their families, in both residential and community-based settings. Her primary focus has been on working with children and adolescents who have experienced multiple adverse childhood experiences, resulting in disrupted placements and little success in achieving permanency. Kristi is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Family Ark in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She is passionate about the prevention of childhood trauma, early screening, and intervention for children who have experienced trauma or intergenerational substance use and abuse. Her focus is on working with the whole family towards healing, and on reunification in cases of separation. Kristi has participated as a treatment provider on the Clark County Family Recovery Court staffing team since 2017 to increase cooperation, alignment, and efficacy between this program and Family Ark. Kristi is a Faculty Trainer for the Traumatic Stress Institute, an advisory board member for the Center for Promoting Recovery and Resilience at the Kent School of Social Work, and a Part-time Instructor for the University of Kentucky College Social Work.
