Your next step begins here #
A nationally ranked MSW program. Faculty committed to student success. Meaningful experiential learning and three focus areas.
For these reasons and more, the MSW program at Northwest prepares you for the next step in your professional journey. Our clinical and community practice curriculum arms you with the broad knowledge to work across social work’s continuum and be licensed for both micro- and macro-level practice.
Our Programs #
IU’s multifaceted MSW curriculum is designed to help students master professional practice through foundational knowledge, clinical and community practice, research and evaluation, and specialized focus in one of three areas: health, mental health and addictions, and school social work.
Experiential learning sharpens skills, fuels interests #
IU School of Social Work develops and maintains strong relationships with a variety of social work practicum sites within the student’s local community as well as internationally through study abroad partners. These partnerships allow us to offer opportunities with an array of inspiring and challenging learning experiences.
Our placement planning process is collaborative and highly personalized. Our field team works closely with students to match them with a practicum site that meets CSWE accreditation requirements and provides impactful learning experiences.
We offer a large variety of field experiences with opportunities in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. Practicum placement is very individualized. We meet with students to learn about their interests to try and find the best possible match.
