Area of Interest

Dr. Boys earned a J.D. from Indiana University-Bloomington, an MSW from IUPUI, and a PhD in Social Work and Political Science from the University of Michigan.  She was an Assistant Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences at IU-East for two years before being appointed to the faculty of the IUSSW in 2007.  She teaches a range of courses in research, policy, and leadership at the BSW  and MSW levels, and policy at the doctoral level.  Her research agenda combines legal studies with the substantive areas of reproductive bioethics, capital punishment and welfare policy implementation. She is also an adjunct professor of law teaching Poverty Law and Reproductive Technologies Law.
