Richard Brandon-Friedman, MSW, Ph.D., LCSW, LCAC
Richard A. Brandon-Friedman, PhD, LCSW, LCAC is an Assistant Professor in the Indiana University School of Social Work and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Indiana University School of Medicine. His academic foci include sexual and gender identity development among youth, youth sexual wellbeing, LGBTQ+ identity development, youth sexual behaviors, sexuality discourse within social work, and addressing sexuality within the child welfare system. As a clinician he has worked with youth in schools and in the child welfare for over 10 years and has worked with youth who identify as sexual minorities for over 15 years. Dr. Brandon-Friedman is a clinician within the Riley Hospital for Children's Gender Health Program, is the Chair of the Indiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Worker’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee, and is a Councilor for the Council on Social Work Education’s Council on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression.
