Aisha holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social work.  Aisha is passionate about the field of social work and its role and responsibility to the community.  Numerous hours are spent each year volunteering in a variety of capacities within the community in areas such as mentorship, health, spirituality, empowerment of youth, teen girls, and women, especially. Aisha serves at the IUSSW as the BSW Program Coordinator for the Fort Wayne campus, professor, recruiter/advisor, and within the area of field education.  Prior to Academia, Aisha's practice experience includes work in the areas of personal nutrition coaching and mentoring, child welfare, residential settings, domestic violence, community mental health, HIV/AIDS, IMPACT programs, pre and post maternal health, and leadership.  It is a privilege for Aisha to utilize her skills and knowledge in preparing the next generation of social workers and to teach others to value the wisdom provided by life experiences. Aisha believes it is important to utilize each person's unique strengths, to appreciate diversity, and to help empower others to value the significance of their own story. In her spare time, Aisha enjoys spending time with family and friends laughing and enjoying each day as it comes.
